About the role
Working in the Cloud Platforms and SRE Chapter, the role will be leading the squad responsible for building, operating, and continuously improving our Cloud Data Platform. You will help the squad deliver reliable, secure, and scalable data platform capabilities that enable engineering and data teams to build and run data products effectively across our cloud estate.
You will lead a squad working with technologies such as Databricks, Databricks Asset Bundles, Unity Catalog, DBT, SQL, Python, Azure Data Factory, and cloud platforms including Google Cloud Platform. The squad will play a key role in improving data platform engineering standards, cloud connectivity, governance, permission management, delivery practices, and operational maturity.
Each squad is led by an “Engineering Squad Lead” who is responsible for the squad’s day-to-day activities, people leadership, and delivery outcomes. They are natural leaders, engineering practitioners at heart, and have first-hand experience of building, running, and improving technical platforms. They take a deep interest in keeping ways of working simple, effective, and efficient. They use their experience to help squads resolve impediments, make balanced technical decisions, take measured risks, and make progress by collaborating with Principal Engineers, Product Owners, stakeholders, and platform users.
