What's the job?

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Quality Engineer to join our Software Engineering team, working on a greenfield Loyalty Platform. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping the quality strategy with a strong focus on automated testing across backend services and platform components.

You will work closely with backend engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure quality is embedded throughout the development lifecycle, rather than treated as a final checkpoint. As a Senior QE, you will help define testing approaches, frameworks, and standards, while driving best practices in automation, reliability, and continuous quality.

If you're looking for an exciting opportunity to step out of your comfort zone and make a real impact building better software, this is the job for you!

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated test solutions to ensure high quality across backend services and platform components.
  • Define and evolve the overall test automation strategy, frameworks, and standards in collaboration with the wider engineering team.
  • Work closely with backend engineers and product stakeholders to embed quality practices throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Develop and execute automated tests across different levels, including API, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Ensure test coverage supports scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability of the platform.
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, reliable feedback on changes.
  • Actively contribute to identifying quality risks, preventing defects early, and improving overall system stability.
  • Provide guidance and support to other engineers on testing best practices and automation approaches.

What you'll bring

  • Strong experience in test automation using Java, with Kotlin exposure considered a strong advantage.
  • Proven hands-on experience in API testing, including designing and maintaining automated tests for RESTful services.
  • Practical knowledge of Rest Assured or similar frameworks for validating backend APIs.
  • Solid understanding of software testing principles, including test design, test coverage, and defect prevention.
  • Experience working with automated test suites integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with backend engineers to ensure testability and quality are built into services.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying risks and improving quality.
  • Experience working in Agile teams, contributing to continuous improvement of testing practices and tooling.
  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
